Synopsis
When Maria wakes up in an isolated mansion built for the world's most powerful men, she quickly understands there is no way out — only rules to survive. Stripped of her old identity, she is renamed, dressed, and trained to please.
But behind the mansion's polished surface lies a rigid hierarchy the other women have learned to navigate long before her arrival. As Maria studies the house's unspoken laws, she discovers that obedience alone won't save her. Real survival depends on the fragile alliances she forms with the women trapped alongside her — bonds forged in secrecy, cunning, and quiet resistance.
Women of Ice is a psychological thriller about power, complicity, and the alliances women build when the system is designed to keep them apart.

Director's note
I've always been drawn to stories that explore the tension between survival and solidarity: those moments when women are forced to choose between protecting themselves and protecting each other.
Ice Women emerged from this fascination: what happens when an entire system is built to isolate women from one another, and what it takes to break that isolation.
This project continues something I began in my previous work: telling stories about women, on their own terms, even when the world around them refuses to allow them to define those terms for themselves. Ice Women revisits the main character of Mariana (a short film released in 2023), adding depth and dimension to the protagonist's central story.

About the director
Maria Caminal is a director and screenwriter based in Andorra, drawn to stories that put women at the center.
Trained at a film school in Barcelona, she has spent her career writing, directing and producing film and advertising work, recognized by festivals including Amnesty International, the New York International Women's Festival, Premios Oriana and her latest short film, Mariana, was shortlisted for the Goya Awards.
She is currently developing her first feature, Women of Ice, supported by residencies at Faberllull Olot and the International Residency
in Liechtenstein.
